Why Hypnosis?

I get asked often, why should I try hypnosis and what does it do? What is it like? First I will share the textbook definition of hypnosis with you and that is:

Hypnosis - an altered state of consciousness which lies between the waking state and sleep. It is generally brought about in an individual by the use of a combination of concentration, relaxation, suggestion, and expectation. 

Now I will give you the Transpersonal Hypnosis definition:

Transpersonal Hypnosis - a method for self-exploration and behavioral change using the mind-body-spirit approach.

Some people ask me if hypnosis is like meditation, and I would say yes, but with the intent of making a shift or change in perception which then allows a new perspective.  The myths and misconceptions of hypnosis can be found on the Myths & FAQs page. It answers questions such as, can I get stuck, is it mind control, etc. 

Why should you try hypnosis? If you would like to make long-term changes such as changing a habit, enhancing creativity or you just cannot seem to relax. With the world today it seems we have little time for peace and quiet. There is constant noise and interruption in our world and it is hard to unplug. I named my business Sacred Space because that is what I create for you. This is your time, your space, and you can unplug from the world to go deep within and communicate with your subconscious mind to make the changes you need or find the answers you long for. 

Maybe you have tried other modalities and nothing has worked, or you just need that extra something to get you where you need to be. No one person is alike so we all need different things for healing. That is why you will never be treated like any other person when you come to see me. 

If you have tried hypnosis before you may have been read a script or simply handed a recording with some headphones. You will not find this with me. I create a script just for you based on what you need specifically for you. The only time you will get an mp3 is for your needs at home for deeper work or to learn self-hypnosis. Honestly, all hypnosis is self-hypnosis but I can get into that further when we meet. This is why a consultation is so important in the beginning. I want your session to meet your needs and give you the tools you need to succeed.
